Drive105 are currently looking to add to their list of volunteers who may be interested in presenting a LIVE show. Our requirements are dedication, enthusiasm and at least 8 - 10 hours of your time a week. Drive 105.3fm is a not for profit cross community
radio station, based in Derry/Londonderry.
Drive105.3fm is a Registered Charity (XT21267)
Our main objectives are:
To act as a voice of the Community reflecting the multi-cultural society that we live in.
To provide a forum that enables debate around local issues to take place.
To provide training in ICT, media and journalism.
To forward the cause of cross-community relations and multiculturalism.
To provide entertainment ranging from the late 1960’s to present day, with the emphasis on 60s, 70's and 80's music.
To develop strategic relationships with local community groups, educational institutions, charitable bodies and local government.
To encourage and promote citizenship and thus create a sense of empowerment and responsibility.
To work with community groups, e.g. the disabled, the elderly, plus cross-community and ethnic groups
The Community Media council was established in 2007 as a result of the growth of the community radio sector in the North of Ireland. The Community Media Council is the North of Ireland’s membership organisation, which seeks to enable communities to establish and develop communications media for cultural and creative expression, social development, education, representation and entertainment. The council is the body responsible for representing and supporting community owned and operated media organisations including Community Radio, Community Television and Community Media Internet Initiatives.
The Community Media Council is the voice of community media in the North of Ireland representing the sector to government, Ofcom, industry and the general public.
The Council seek to uphold the highest ethical standards in the expansion of the community media sector and subscribes to the ambitions and aims of the international community media family.
